Hi, I'm Tadia James
pronounced Tuh-DEE-Uh :)
I’m the Founder & CEO of Black Onyx, an outcomes-driven platform where innovation, capital, and leadership converge to solve some of the most complex challenges of our time — from entrepreneurship and wealth creation to education, AI upskilling, and systems-level change. My work sits at the intersection of strategy, systems thinking, and conscious leadership.

Before building Black Onyx, my career spanned Wall Street, venture capital, and technology. I hold an MBA from Stanford and have worked with founders and operators navigating growth, capital, and scale. Over time, I saw a consistent pattern: the biggest bottlenecks weren’t intelligence or ambition, they were clarity, alignment, and execution across increasingly complex systems. That’s where my work now focuses.

I help people get clear on what they’re here to build, design aligned strategies that actually work in the real world, and move from vision to execution with precision. Whether I’m advising a CEO, working with a family office, or partnering on a venture, my role is to help translate big ideas into structures, decisions, and momentum that create measurable results.

My approach blends rigorous business strategy with a deep understanding of energy, leadership, and human potential. I believe capital, influence, and attention are powerful tools and when they’re aligned with purpose and discipline, they can reshape entire industries and futures.

Through 1-on-1 business advisory sessions, private advisory retainers, select partnerships, and speaking engagements, I work with people who feel called to build something meaningful and are ready to do it with clarity, alignment, and impact.

A few books
I enjoyed reading
(and why)...
(Sorry to the fiction readers. This list is entirely non-fiction -- I know. Sad. I swear I'll be better in 2026!)
Atomic Habits
By James Clear
Why: This book taught me how to build consistency -- by learning how to habit stack and develop ways to track my progress, it really helped me level up my Type A OCD behavior!
Machevellians
Why: This book sharpened how I think about power, leadership, and how the world actually works behind the scenes. It stripped away idealism and helped me see institutions, incentives, and human behavior more clearly — which made me a more strategic, grounded, and effective builder.
The Creature from Jekyll Island
Why: This book challenged how I think about money, power, and financial systems. It pulled back the curtain on how monetary policy shapes society and sharpened my ability to question incentives, authority, and who truly benefits from the structures we take for granted.
Between Death and Life
By Dolores Cannon
Why: expanded my understanding of consciousness beyond the physical. It helped me reframe death, purpose, and free will — bringing a deeper sense of peace, perspective, and trust in the larger arc of life.
21 Keys to Manifestation
By: Marriya
Why: This book 21 Keys to Manifestation taught me that manifestation is less about effort — and more about alignment, clarity, and embodiment.
Breaking the Habit of Being You
By: Dr. Joe Dispenza
Why: This book showed me how deeply our thoughts, emotions, and identity shape our reality. It gave me practical tools to rewire patterns at the nervous-system level — helping me consciously step out of old conditioning and into who I’m becoming.
Principles
By Ray Dalio
Why: The book helped me think more systematically about decision-making, leadership, and long-term success. It reinforced the power of clear frameworks, radical honesty, and designing systems that outlast individual effort.
